This weekend of football was about ten times better than last weekend. Not because the Living Legend won again, or because the Browns offense finally showed up to play. While the Arkansas State INDIANS pulled off a home win in high style after getting fucked over in Texas and rained out in Memphis, even that wasn’t the highlight of the weekend.
No, the highlight was getting decent HD service for the first time.
I’ve been suffering with Cox cable since moving into the new place this summer. Their version of HD is a bigger pile of crap than their slow assed broad band Internet service. Verizon Fios for television is a quantum leap better in quality and number of channels. Plus, the package is cheaper on a monthly basis even without a sign up discount. NFL games in HD from Cox looked identical to the regular broadcasts. On Fios the games in HD damn near jump out of the screen.
I’ll let you guys insert your own captions on this one.
No I won’t.
When I was living in Memphis, TN we used to slam the Marlins for their piss poor attendance numbers. Our Triple AAA farm team regularly beat the crowds for the Marlins. Which leads me to this.
If you can’t put asses in the seats then you don’t deserve a team. Hell, Florida has two major league teams and both are dead last in their leagues for attendance. That’s what you might call a sign from God. The Marlins have won the World Series. Twice. Still nobody cares.
The next time baseball thinks about shrinking the league they should start with Florida.
