One of the things playing Soldier caused me to miss was the birth of my first grand kid. As bad as that sucked the Internet and Skype eased some of the pain. The family has been good about sending me pictures and videos. They’ve even pointed the web cam at my new favorite girl and let me watch her sleep.
Here she is watching her play pen mobile. The voice in the back ground is THE WOMAN.
And yes, I am wrapped around her finger before I’ve ever held her.

Why am I in Iraq? Because this guy deserves a chance to grow up safe and free like we did.

After the last attempt at grilling, you might think THE WOMAN wouldn’t have tried again. Because who needs the fire department to visit twice in as many weeks?
But my WOMAN isn’t the kind to give up that easy. So she was back out there yesterday giving the grill ten kinds of Hell. And she did a damned fine job.

Edit: THE BOY ate half of the hot dogs in a single afternoon, claiming they were *almost* as good as Dad’s.
