Seriously. Don’t piss off the guys that are doing all the hard work and shitty hours for you. They will find a way to get back at you.
This bike belonged to a certain young officer that had a habit of losing his temper at the drop of a hat. Which is ok if you aren’t already looked at a a bit of a raving idiot. The kid liked to park his bike in the middle of his office’s smoke break area and didn’t want to move it when he was asked to. A couple of days later this is what happened. The beauty of this little stunt grows when the young captain tried to get his bike off the side of the building. Suddenly there were no ladders to be found. He had no way to get the damned thing down by himself. Everyone he turned to for help suddenly contracted a grave fear of heights. And then there’s the things that happen when you piss off your fellow officers. Namely by not giving them a ride to the chow hall when you are headed to the very same chow hall.
Now this stunt takes a bit more pre-planning than running a bike up the side of a building. And it takes having access to the unit’s check book so you can pay the forklift driver enough to put the truck on top of the connexes. The second part of the plan requires paying the forklift driver enough on the side to take his sweet time coming back to take the truck down. Oh yeah, the joke gets better when the forklift driver pulls the language card out of his pocket and declares he can’t understand English. The offending major got the point. And I’m positive that this incident had nothing at all to do with him asking to be sent home early. And I’m sure it had no part in the Commander deciding to grant his request.TC
