Another day closer to leaving this crap hole. As THE WOMAN pointed out to me tonight I will be able to get a cup of Starbucks in Iraq, but I can’t get one here at Camp Shelby, MS. In fact, Hattiesburg is a college town (sort of) and there’s only one Starbucks in town. Maybe there’s simply not enough cash in this town to support any place that want six dollars for a cup of coffee.
Today was mostly office work. Tomorrow is the ruck march and then off to the hand grenade range. The last half of that should be fun. The first half, not so much so since the early morning forecast is calling for it to be about 17 degrees when we start our nature hike. At least it won’t rain until Saturday.
THE WOMAN is coming down to spend some time with me right before I punch out in a few weeks. That’s going to be a good time. We’ve got a room booked at a Gulf Coast casino, a fifth of Jack Daniels and a case of MREs. If you don’t hear from me for a couple of weeks – don’t come looking cause I’m having too much fun to be found.
Saber Squelch Out.
