One week into this year long camping trip and I’m still in a foul mood.  At least we got the network up, now it’s only a matter of doing the final tweaks and getting the little shit connected.

Most of the guys working for me seem to be good at their jobs.  They have a great attitude about getting the job done, but a couple are still trying to hide out in the bunks during the day.  My automation team is a God send.  With out them I’d be toast.

So far this has been typical Army shit.  Snow one day, high of 80 the next.  It rains more than it doesn’t.  Lots of training that most of us will never use.  Guys that have too much macho in their coffee every morning and officers that need a pacifier more than they need a weapon.  Damned part timers.  And damn my ass for getting entrenched into the five sided day care so deep that I’ve forgotten how to be a Soldier.

Two weeks, more or less, and I get released for Christmas break.  Sounds like high school.  Not a lot of flight options out of this end of Mississippi, but there’s enough to get my sorry ass home.  And in the end that’s all that really matters to me.
