According to Wikipedia the per capita income for my hometown is $12,727 US dollars.  That’s per year.  I spent almost that much on a parking permit for my office garage last year.  Un-fucking-real.

I had some good times growing up there.  My mother still lives there, and at age 70 makes more than the median income for females in the town.  My opinions of people living off the government teat were formed when I was living there.  Because I saw it first hand every day and quickly understood how that lifestyle builds upon itself exponentially.

Is it any wonder I”m so damned glad to be here now?
