A few days ago KassyK posted about all the crap on TV these days. I don’t watch that much television so I took her word for it. But she did get me thinking about the lack of real news on the Internet. Then came the news that Anna Nicole died with a normal anus. I almost gave up on the spot.
Today’s Internet news carries headlines like these:
- Pope says Hell and damnation is real. Of course he does. If hell goes away tithing will drop and he’ll have to find a real job.
- Florida Man Says Ex-Wife’s Sex Change Should End His Alimony Obligation. Dumb fucking headline but I tend to agree with him.
- China can route porn to mobile phones. Interesting concept yet somehow I don’t see that as real news.
- School sued over a seven year old’s Tigger socks. Disney should pick up the kid’s legal fees on this one.
- American Fucking Idol has devolved to the lowest common denominator. The kid can’t sing and shouldn’t have made any of the cuts. Let’s move on now. And can the death threats.
- Some people can’t pee at the office, others can’t poop there either. Why is that anyone’s business?
And I’m not real happy with Newsvine, but thanks for suggesting it. Having my news ranked by how many people comment on it is not the best way to determine what’s important to the world.
News needs to be important stuff that we can use. It needs to be about war, famine, the economy, disasters, and heroes. Sports is news too, but only like it was back in the day when the sports pages were at the back of the newspapers.
