TC the Terrible NOW Saber Squelch

Well, we had to make changes to the car.

One of the other dads in the Pack had a mini-workshop at his house for the guys to test out cars and put on the finishing touches. Long story short, the Flash car didn’t cut the mustard. The weights that THE BOY and I mounted under the car were a fraction too low at some points on the track. It produced a drag that kept the car from making it all the way down the track. A total disaster in the world of Pinewood Derby racing.

Thankfully the dad that was holding the workshop had a shed full of woodworking tools. He loaned me his rotary tool and router bit to hollow out the bottom of the car and recess the weights. This let the car move down the track but it screwed up the weight and balance of the car.

Each car is allowed to weigh no more than 5 ounces. Our car was 4.903 ounces. After I cut out the bottom of the car the weight fell to 4.1 ounces. Far to light to develop any real speed in the downhill portion of the track. I compensated by adding more weights to the car bringing it back to 4.9 ounces. The pictures are after the jump.

Of course drilling out the bottom required me to remove the wheels and axles. Now I’ve got the task of re-setting them and adding more graphite to the shafts.

We also started a second car, but it may not be finished by Friday night.

.. . . at least in Michigan.  That state's second highest court has ruled that committing adultery can lead to a life in prison. The entire story is here, and makes for interesting reading.

This could have major second order effects.  Think of all the hourly rate motels that will be put out of business because consenting adults will be afraid to go there.  The Elks, Moose, Rotarian clubs won't have anymore conventions in Michigan.  School teachers will refuse to escort kids on overnight field trips.  Business travelers will stay in their hotel rooms and not at the hotel bar.  Yellow Pages will become lighter when the escort services pull out their ads.

This is crazy stuff.   Everybody knows that the spouse of an adulterer always makes out like a bandit in divorce court.  The courts are letting the offender get off light by putting them in jail for life.

Talk about humiliation.  No matter what excuse you come up with, everybody is going to think the worst.

According to the Vallejo Fire Department, "the cell phone in Picaso's pants pocket set fire to his nylon and polyester clothes."  So dude was a bad dresser too.  Anyone want to take odds that he had the phone on vibrate and was trying to call himself until he got off?  Now he's got second and third degree burns over most of his body AND caused $75 grand worth of damage to his apartment and the business in the building below it.

Wouldn't it have been better (and cheaper) to have just hired a hooker for the night?

While it was sweet of Bambi to give the decoy a kiss, you have to wonder how good it really was for him. Dry humping is pretty much for high school boys that still believe their girlfriend has a period every Friday and Saturday night.
