The world is a hard place to be. It's harder if you're stupid.

It took long enough, but Joe Gibbs finally got the message about losing.  He should have put Brunell’s sorry ass on the bench three weeks ago.  I’ve been quite about it (well mostly) this year because I don’t have that much faith in Jason Campbell, but if you check I’ve been calling this one for three years now.  It all comes down to getting the ball down field well enough that the defense is forced to respect the passer, creating gaps up front for the running game.  Of course that would mean that you have a running game to use.  With Clinton Portis out for the next month we might even see Duckett on the field.  After all, the team paid out the ass to get him and has yet to use him.

Gary Levin of USA Today is reporting that Studio 60 is not quite dead, yet.  That’s good news if you happen to like a quality television show that seldom plays to the lowest common denominator.  The problem seems to be that so few people really want to watch good shows unless they are on cable.  I get that.  Because if Studio 60 were on HBO we would have had at least one shot of Amanda Peet naked by now.  Besides, why should I make it a point to watch a show on television when I can see it on the Internet whenever I want?

I’m glad to see the networks putting first run content on the web.  I think it is a smart move, but it is not something that is going to cause people to tune in to see the show when it airs.  Why should they?  If I can catch the show on my PC (or THE WOMAN’s) iMac while I’m getting a midnight snack why should I try to do anything else?  What makes more sense to me is this.

The broadcast networks should fill their schedules with game shows, reality shows, sports, talent hunts, and all the news they can make up.  Then they would put the quality shows (no, that does not include Grey’s Anatomy) on the ‘Net.  The people interested in good shows could still get them, and the networks could put trash on the air that draws big numbers for the sponsors.   I bet it would work.

Join me in welcoming back the black and red version of the blog.  Since my mood has been so black lately I thought it was time to go back to it.  Sort of the way that Joe Gibbs needs to go back to the drawing board to find a decent offense.  Or at least a quarterback that can admit to being offensive.

The real deal is don’t piss off the counter guy at your local Burger King.  It could get you shot.  And if you make sex tapes, be sure to get all of the copies before you text over your break up message.  Good going K-Fed.  Every redneck in North America is now in awe of you again.  Here’s Brittney is willing to pay out the nose for it.  After all these months of being the butt of jokes K-Fed is finally going to the bank.
