The world is a hard place to be. It's harder if you're stupid.

In a sport based on violence it surprises me that so many people get worked up about the level of violence. Hell, what are the NFL highlight reels but a tribute the force with which some men can hit each other? Or avoid being hit by the other guy? We call linemen brutes, animals, behemoths, brick walls, etc. but then expect them to conduct themselves like gentlemen? That make little to no sense.Heynesworth was rather blatant this past Sunday when he kicked a Cowboy that was down on the field, then stomped his unprotected head. But isn’t that the kind of thing that pro player are bred for? The NFL encourages it’s players to be violent and physical during the game. They reward the best ones by giving them large contracts and excessive fame.

Should he have kicked a guy in the head when he was on the ground? No. Should he have kicked him again when he noticed that the downed player was not wearing a helmet? Again, no. But the rules of normal society don’t apply to the football field.

I love the NFL and personally have no problems with the violence. It just seems a tad bit hypocritical to me that a sport built around who can hit the other guy the hardest would be so bothered when it happens after a whistle blows.

Relationships can be hard.  Drinking clearly can make them harder.  And while Richard Gere never played rough with that gerbil (that we can prove) it appears that people are still mistreating hamsters.

What is the world coming to?

Free to a good home. This cat will never run away, miss the litter box, or leave claw marks on your good furniture. It will never cry in the middle of the night, pounce you as you walk across a dark room, come home pregnant or any of the other crap that felines do. Promise. Of course you may notice a slight odor problem.
