It feels good to earn my pay for once. Even if it means I have less time to piss off people in cyber-land. It’s been a couple of days since the last threatening e-mail so either common sense suddenly prevails across the land (NOT) or my legions of deaf readers have moved on to fresher meat. It sucks either way because book sales are dropping off.
- Allen needs to get over himself. As a Southern white guy playing football and living at the frat house 30 years ago he dropped the “N” bomb hundreds of times. He might not do it today, but it was the culture he lived in back then. Why not just admit to it and move on? If the nation was willing to forgive W for doing blow as a thirty-something then they’ll forgive Allen for being a racist as a kid.
- Hell, people are making jokes about Oprah and her racial hiring practices. ‘Cause you just gotta know that if it were a white guy with a all white staff that it’d be damned court case by now. But since it’s the Big O everybody’s cool with it, and her do-do talk. Shouldn’t black people be pissed about this?
- Nationals Train Derails Near Wilmington. I saw that headline and thought the Post was referring to the current state of the team, not their train ride home.
- Monday night television finally has something to offer besides wrestling. Studio 60 is going to be great once it finally hits stride. As it stands now it’s better than anything else that the networks have got on. Or is that my crush on Amanda Peet doing all the talking?
- And Trek geeks now have a reason to come out of Mommy’s basement. But do any of them have enough cash to actually buy Kirk’s chair? I don’t think so.
