The following post was sent to the server prior to 0800 today. The electrons got misplaced enroute so I’m reposting in the interest of a fair fight.

I guess my lesson learned for the week is that my writing pisses people off. First I used my desk as a note pad and my anal-retentive (does the hyphen really go there?) boss blew his stack. Hell, it was in pencil and most of it came off on the first pass. Sometimes I get on a roll and need to draw things out when I’m talking to people. Yesterday the closet thing to write on happened to be my desk.
Then there’s Ricky D. Taylor, also known as Ridor. All the hate filled comments on the blog the past 24 hours have come from readers referred by his site. The non-hate comments are from regular readers that understand there’s more than one opinion in the world. I’ve got a tough skin so the hate stuff doesn’t bother me because it serves to make my point.
None of the people posting opposing views (except Ridor) have had anything of merit to say. Their comments fall into pretty simple categories; 1) I’m an idiot/retard/dick, 2) bad things should happen to me, and 3) I’m guilty of a hate crime [pretty sure that the First Amendment has got my back on this one]. Not one of those posters could make a defense of their position on the subject. And that is very typical.
The vast majority of the time when a person or group feels disadvantaged they want to strike out at someone. The three
people suing the ‘Skins and FedEx say they are trying to get the most out of their ticket dollar. Fine, but the people being sued have tried to come to a compromise on this issue and the plaintiffs refused the offer. So the suit isn’t really about the quality of the game, but about the agenda of a couple of people.
Another thing, why is it that the people/groups that claim they are pushing for inclusion of everyone always the most violent towards their critics? If you look back at the comments from yesterday is there a single one (other than Ridor) that sounds like an intelligent argument? Hell, get mad at me over my opinion all you want – that’s fine. But if you are going to take the time to comment try to have something to offer the debate when you do. That’s not a lot to ask.
But hey, thanks for all the books and DVDs you guys have bought in the last 24 hours. My check from Amazon is all but in the mail for the month. I could have never done it without you.
