It’s 9/11 – five years later. A lot is going to be made of that today, but I’m going to forgo talking about it. Regular readers know how I feel about America’s enemies. We should use our might more often, and in greater strength than we normally do. As the world’s only superpower it is our responsibility to make the rest of the world behave properly. If that calls for breaking a couple of nations in the process, then so be it.
All I’m going to say here, is that we don’t do enough to protect ourselves on the front end and we don’t punish the guilty hard enough. We should do whatever we need to do to protect our homeland and not be overly concerned about who it pisses off. If America expects to remain strong in the coming decades we should continue to act strong. Policies of placation and appeasement only give our enemies time to grow stronger. It is easier to snuff them out early before they have had a chance to take root.
The men and women of the military need more support and less rhetoric from our politicians. They need the funds to fight the war on all of its fronts. They need the news media to back the hell off of the arm chair quarter backing they do every day and learn about the military they are supposed to be covering. Watching news people using a dead soldier to grab a headline is getting tiresome.
