TC the Terrible

The Tyson’s tunnel is dead and soon to be buried. Thanks Congress and you dweebs from the Federal Transit Administration,  that think it’s so damned important to save a few million dollars.  Now NOVA is going to have an above ground rail system that will look like hammered crap and cause problems for area businesses and traffic cops alike.  This is unreal.  We can find billions of dollars every month to hand out like welfare checks to people around the world to do worthless fucking projects in thier backwater countries.  Yet we can’t spare a few million to do the next phase of the Metro system right?

What the hell kind of sense does that make?

Yesterday was the first day of school for our brood and it came with the associated drama (mostly from SDSM) and new expenses (all from FDSM), so it was pretty much life as expected.  The unexpected drama came from THE BOY.  While some schools have gone to finger print scanners in the school lunch room, our boy’s school can’t find a way to hire English speakers.  The non-verbal bitch at the lunch counter refused to let THE BOY buy his lunch because he had brought a snack from home.  Of course no one in the school is willing to help him out because that would be confrontational.  And all confrontation is a bad thing.

Anyway, enough bitching and moaning.  On to the news.

• Archie Manning has the perfect advice for parents who want to see their children succeed in sports: "Go to their games, sit in the top row and keep your mouth shut."  Some guys should pay better attention to Archie, see the video here.
• Katie had her big night last night, and pretty much fizzled, despite her 17 share.  Glad to hear that I missed it.  Not that it’s her fault or anything, but there was no real news because Katie was the news.
• My beloved Cards pounded my beloved Nats last night.  Thanks in large part to the big bat of Albert Pujols.  One of these days I’m going to be forced to choose between my two adopted home teams.
• Do we really need a beauty contest for married women?  And do they get extra points in the bathing suit competition for creatively showcasing their C-section scars?  Or is this just something they do to show the husbands that the wives are still hot? 
• Joe Gibbs is a dictator. Ok, that’s news why?  I thought all coaches held that kind of authority.
• Granted, it’s tough to get young men to sign up for the Army when they are all but guaranteed to be shot at.  Still, do we really have to outsource the recruiters?  And how long is it before some dick wad in India is doing the job?
