Guess what? It’s raining outside, and it’s going to do this all weekend. I’m hoping that someone in our office will have the sense to send us home early today. That way I can get a head start on bailing out our basement that is sure to flood again.
- I’m no fan of tennis but Agassi was worth staying up late to watch last night. He had the long haired Baghdatis put away early and let the kid come back way too many times.
- Payday loans have always been a big scam, just like car title loans. I am glad to see the Pentagon is helping out. Why can’t we have a few F-16s take out some of the more prominent sites? Or at least let the CIA order hits on the owners. I know more than one guy that’s been damn near bankrupted by these places and they really piss me off.
- If a solider runs away from his commitment, wouldn’t the best punishment be to make him serve it out in a combat zone? Maybe not, but it sure sounds good.
- I’m tired of hearing how the ‘Skins won the Super Bowl the last time they went 0 – 4 in the pre-season. It might be time to admit that the team isn’t really as strong as all the experts think they are.
- MTV jumped the shark a decade or so ago. That’s a fact. They no longer play music videos. That’s a fact. The Video Music Awards have jumped the shark too. That’s a fact. Now will some one give me back my MTV with music videos that are watchable and music that I like? Damn I hate being older and smarter than everyone else.
Despite the rain I’m getting THE BOY out this weekend to see the National Museum of American History this weekend. It’s our last chance to see it for two years as it’s being closed down for re-design and retro-fitting. The new version will be worth the pain as it will finally feature Old Glory in a fitting fashion. But that particular museum was one of the reasons we moved here and now I feel like we haven’t seen it enough.
