TC the Terrible

Normally I tend to rant, rave, bitch and moan in this space.  But today I need to take a break from being my normally cheery, wonderful self and act like a normal human for once.  As noted earlier I’m having some problems with reaching the site from the office.  As a work around one of the tech gods suggested I create a cron job to allow posting by e-mail.

Needles to say that it did not go as smoothly for me as he made it sound.  Long story short, I was able to create the job on my own, but it had tons of problems in the execution.  I called the tech support guys at my hosting company, Bluehost.com, and in less than five minutes I was in business.  Not only did somebody with brains answer the phone by the third ring, but the guy spoke American and had a sense of humor.  He made the tweaks to the script that I needed and sent me a copy of what he had done for my records.  No shit, that took less than five minutes from the time I dialed the number until his e-mail with the changes was in my mailbox.  Unfucking real.

Wow, another Monday is here already.  Boy am I pumped.  Not.

• The Redskins played last night and are really sorry they did it.  At least you can’t say that Clinton Portis doesn’t try to earn his paycheck every time he’s on the field.
• I’m betting that Tony Kornheiser gets better reviews than Dennis Miller, but won’t last a season before Theismann threatens to kick his ass on the air.  By the way, Joey T is giant prick in real life and deserves all the ripping that Korny can give him.
• If you are thinking about blowing up one of your local bridges it might not be a good idea to have several hundred cell phones in your possession.  It tends to draw unwarranted attention.
• I wonder if the lost footage of the first moon landing is the result of some intern hitting the bars?  At least they weren’t blogging about how bad their boss sucks. 
• Ever seen a tree that leaks water?  Me either, but if the damn thing were in Mexico there would be a freaking riot to get it declared a miracle.
• The Governors are upset because the President wants to take control of the National Guard?  I don’t get that.  I mean it’s not like the Constitution directly gives them that power or anything.  Geez, some people.

The IT Nazis here at the office still have me shut down so there’s no telling how crappy this post is going to look when the e-mail engines are done with it.
