You know Rowe, talking ill of your current employer on the Internet is not really smart. Even less so when you use your real name.

I'm familiar with another family run company that brought in a management team to run it producing the same results. Now it's all about the bottom line. Is the moral of the story - Beware of family run companies?

As Ronald Reagan would say, "Well, you've done it again". You've touched on a fistful of my pet peeves here. It's really hard to reconcile my conservative nature with my desire for the courts or the legislatures to force Wally World to respect the people they sell low quality inferior products to. I guess having grown up in a town that was a nice place to live and actually had businesses before Wal-Mart, and that now after the rape is lying there with a gaping anus and not even one place to buy clothing within 45 miles is pissing me off. Yes friends after about 30 years of forcing every business that competes with it out of town The Corporate Satan has left. Fred's has graciously agreed to come to town and sell deodorant and fill prescriptions (for all of you Yankees and Easterners who are unfamiliar with Fred's, it is the vulture that comes and feeds on the scraps left when Wal-Mart leaves).
I usually want judges to rule according to law instead of interpreting or creating new law, but in this case I'd be glad to make an exception. I seem to remember learning somewhere that government is supposed to "promote the general welfare" and "secure the blessings of liberty" but maybe my definitions are warped like the rest of me. If the Wal-Mart funded politicians in the legislature and governors offices arem't going to help then maybe it is time for some appointed for life federal judges to step in.
OUT.

Yeah, Sam Walton was one of the good guys to his employees no matter how ruthless he was in business. Too bad his kids never really loved the company like he did or they might not have the reputation they do now.

I worked there in college. When Sam was alive it was a great place to be. After the kids took over and brought in a management team to run the company it was all about the bottom line.

Wal Mart has gone to hell since Sam kicked off. You should see all of the ads Wal-Mart employees are running around here (may be nationwide...I dunno) blasting the leadership.
