Welcome to the working man’s holiday edition. We’re under the ever nebulous and definition morphing “diminished manning” rules here today. Normally I’d be one of the guys at the house today but I got busy last week and forgot to drop my vacation request in time. NEW GUY is here because, well, he’s low man on the pole and that’s just how life is.

I’d love to be home today watching Anika and that Big Gal shoot it out today. This is the way a U. S. Open should be played. The two best in the tourney taking it to an extra day is going to be a great finish. Not that shooting a full 36 yesterday wasn’t exciting enough and compared to the men’s open this stands to be a better finish.

I’ve got THE BOY with me at the office today, at least for the first few hours. THE WOMAN is behind in her school work and needed some peace and quite around the house. He rides the Metro like a champ and I’ve put him to work here. He’s got some ‘homework’ pages that are supposed to build his reading skills. His morning has also been full of punching holes in pages and putting them into three ring binders. Government work comes easy to him. That says something about today’s Federal Workers.

I had a run in with SDSM’s swim coach this morning. It turns out he’s a bigger prick than I am, but more on that later.
