TC the Terrible

Sweet has it right. Tourists really screw up DC for the rest of us this time of year. They are fat sweaty creatures that don’t understand our way of life and refuse to move out of my way. This post from a few months ago should be mandatory reading for all of them (the long version is here).

Damn.  Life is a bitch in the big city.

The rain has been a real mutha effer here the past few days. Our sump pump was sending water out of the discharge pipe so hard that it was white-capping on Saturday.  The carpet was soaked, but I thought I got it pulled up in time to save it.  Then the sump pump died yesterday from being over worked.  By the time I could get home THE WOMAN had called my Marine buddy to come over and help out.  He and his father-in-law were ankle deep in flood water.

THE BOY was having a blast using the Shop-Vac to suck it all out.  That was the high point of the evening.  We had some stuff water damaged, and the landlord is going to have to have the floor re-done, but we’ve got it better than some do.

NEW GUY made it in ok yesterday, but a pretty good bit late.  Looks like the same is true for today.  Oh, well.  I’ve got 25 VIPs in town and will be tied up in meetings all day.

I’m out of the office for the next few days in a series of meetings.  Like anyone will really care.

Getting in to work today was a bit difficult due to the six inches or so of rain we got over the weekend.  In fact the NEW GUY  may not know how to get in today since his train is out of service.  We told the boy to have a Plan B, let’s see if he paid attention.

Boys are getting not as dumb as we once thought.  That’s good news.  Of course in trying to pick up the slack for girls we are hurting boys in the long run.  White boys are being hurt worse, because they are both white and boys.  Both of which is clearly their fault.  That figures.

And finally Democrats need to get it straight as to what they want.  First they wanted to fight Iraq.  Then they didn’t.  Then they wanted the troops out by a set date.  Now that the Pentagon is looking at that idea, they don’t.  Shit.  Can you make these people happy?
