I do not understand what the big deal is about the World Cup. What is so important about Ecuador, Sweden and England being able to kick a damn ball around? There is no reason why any sane person would watch one of these games and then become enraged enough over the score to resort to terrorism and violence. And the more I see of the fans on television the less embarrassed I am to admit to watching professional wrestling.
Hell, even Arena Football is a better sport than soccer. At least there the fans have the sense to understand it’s just a damn game. And can you believe that ‘the 50 yard indoor war’ is wrapping up its twentieth year?
The big deal in sports for the civilized fan is the US Open this weekend. Phil is a stroke off (just ask his wife) the lead which is okay because he’s still got three days to go. Tiger is further back (seven off) but under way more stress to get to the top of the board. Which I think is a load of crap. The guy’s dad died and everybody has a microscope up his butt now to see how it impacts his game. Why not leave him alone and let him do his job?
That’s it. I’m in a mean mood today and can’t wait to get home and start getting really, really drunk tonight.
