More distressing superhero news. It seems that Superman is gay. I guess he’s not Lois’ baby daddy after all. Comic book geeks may not come out of their parents’ basements for weeks after all the disturbing news about their icons over the last few days. Maybe Star Trek nerds can help out with tales of how they rebounded from Sulu coming out.

Justice is still blind, even if the evidence was taken with a digital camera. Maybe the prisoners at Abu Ghraib did hold key information that we needed and maybe they were just chumps that got tossed into lockup for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Either way it’s not the place of the United States Army – that’s what the CIA is for.

The jerk wad dog handler deserved more than he got. The United States soldier has to be morally better than the enemy he is facing. Period. I know it is a boring job to guard prisoners in the middle of a desert half way around the globe but there has to be better ways to fill the time. At least in Army jails hard labor is still hard labor. His 90 days is going to be worse than what most civilian prisoners go through in two years.

I’m sure that setting his old lady on fire sounded like a good idea at the time. Hell, anybody that’s ever been married can relate to that emotion. As it turns out for one Roger B. Hargrave acting on that impulse is going to mean the rest of his life behind bars. Which is a pretty fair price to pay. With any luck he’ll be working in the kitchen when a grease fire breaks out and karma’s work will be done.

That’s it for me today. Work has been productive but tough enough that I need a beer or two to get over it. You guys hang in there.
