I sat down to write some words about Memorial Day meaning more than an extra day to veg out and drink imported beers. Then I read this by Colbert King and realized that I couldn’t do the topic any better. So while you’re enjoying the sunshine and brews remember the families that have things a lot harder than you do today. Never forget their lives are screwed up because they chose to defend the good life you have.

Consider this the ‘I’m a whore and sold my soul’ version of the blog. And if I’d had any damned sense about me I would have stuck these freakin’ ads all over the blog when I was featured on Wonkette.com. But I guess sometimes raising kids and doing the husband thing can get in the way of blogging.

My boss at work is always telling me that electrons are free, but the work to build them isn’t. He’s got a point. It doesn’t take a lot of cash to keep this page live, but it does take more time that it might seem to, and that does have a value.
