For those of you at the Dallas, TX office of the United Way that keep checking this page out; why not leave a comment or two and explain how THE WOMAN and Amanda D are both wrong about your little neo-Nazi non-pofit group? We’d love to hear your side, if only to ridicule you further.

It’s about time that somebody got honest with the public about the United Way. THE WOMAN has been working in the non-profit world for the last dozen years or so and she’s always had that opinion of them.

Me, I quit supporting them when they pulled the funding from the Boy Scout program. Not that the United Way ever had a problem with the way the Scouts were run as an organization, but it was done to make a political statement. Charity groups should either be free of politics or they should give up their tax free status. Ric Edelman, chairman of the United Way’s board can spin all he wants, Untied Way is a chairity in deep do-do right now. They should have stuck to helping kids and stayed away from the gay political movement.

Now that the former financial head of United Way, Kim Tran, has gone public with how they cook the books maybe something will be done about it. United Way was never known for putting a great amount of their donations into the programs. Overhead was always where most of the funds went. Still, it makes people feel good to give and it’s easy to give to a big group with a familiar logo.

If you want to donate money, and want nearly 80% of the money you donate to go to the cause try these guys. The National Capitol Area Chapter of the American Liver Foundation has one of the smallest operational budgets in the area. They pump almost 80 cents of every dollar donated back into education programs and research projects. The web site has more details on how you can help.

Back in the saddle so to speak. It’s Monday and the plate is getting full for the week already. My boss is back so I’ll just hit you with some high points until he gets his warm and fuzzy going.

o Democrats worked against one of their own poster boys according to Matt Drudge. Maybe they thought having a white guy in office for the next hurricane would play better on CNN.

o If we can’t get this war right, then maybe we just need new missiles. I guess this means that the old timers agree with Bush that we need to do more in the way of pre-emptive strikes. Which could only lead to more world peace, right?

o Another politician on the take? Tell me it’s not so Alice. Did the Bitch set him up, or did the FBI make him their bitch? Only time and a really cool public lynching will tell. It does remind me that a freezer is great for storing steaks, but makes a lousy piggy bank.

o Schools are teaching kids how to save? Hell they can’t teach them how to read and write. This has to be some sort of Communist plot to ruin the future of our great nation.

o The Nationals took a series? They must be making snowballs in hell today.

o A problem with Word needing more patches? This is all the more reason to switch over to OpenOffice.

o When the big event on the sports pages is a horse’s broken foot it may be time to close the doors. Other than the Derby is there even a race that matters anymore?
