Yesterday would have been a great day except THE WOMAN and I were paired with a couple of real jerks at the golf course. They were brothers, Jim and John, and had no course etiquette at all. One of the two couldn’t hit a driver more than about sixty or seventy yards and twice he hit his second shot before THE WOMAN could get to the front tees for her first.
Then I didn’t get enough fluids and spent the night fighting off the effects of heat stroke. Back in ’94 I went down with a severe case of heat stroke while playing in the woods of Louisiana and ever since then I’ve had to be really careful to stay hydrated. Yesterday I just forgot and really paid the price for it.
It looks like the field for the final Booze-Allen-Hamilton tourney is coming along nicely. Ernie, Phil, Tigger, and Sergio won’t be there, but it should still be a decent weekend of golf. Thanks to PGA politics next year’s event will be pushed to the back of the season so this is really D.C.’s final chance to have a decent field.
That’s it for now. I’ve got another day out of the office and intend to enjoy it fully.
