Lesbians’ brains react differently to sex hormones than those of heterosexual women, new research indicates. That’s in line with an earlier study that had indicated gay men’s brain responses were different from straight men — though the difference for men was more pronounced than has now been found in women.

Lesbians’ brains reacted somewhat, though not completely, like those of heterosexual men, a team of Swedish researchers said in Tuesday’s edition of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

A year ago, the same group reported findings for gay men that showed their brain response to hormones was similar to that of heterosexual women.

It was only a sniff test. . . .

I am feeling really old after a weekend at my ancestral home. As if the pot belly and grey hair were not enough already I got a reality check when I was there that came completely out of left field. The first girl that I ever saw naked (in person and got to touch) is now a grandmother – and she’s two years younger than me. Mathematically I’m old enough to have had grand kids by now too, but I haven’t so that means I’m not really old. But the idea of my first having a kid that has a kid is a bit crushing humbling.

The show Big Love wears me out. Every time I watch it, once a week, I walk away tired. How in the hell could any man ever think that being married to three women at the same time is a good idea? At least in the real world the justice system is smart enough to put idiots like that in jail. Maybe he can get the help he needs while he’s in jail.
