The world is a hard place to be. It's harder if you're stupid.

“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were: any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”

- John Donne, 1623, from “Devotions upon Emergent Occasions”

Damn, this will suck for Mark Brunell. Can you imagine how hard LaVar is going to hit the old geezer the first time they play? Brunell would be tasting his own cleats for days.

All I can say is that Gibbs had better have the EMTs close by when the Giants come to town. Because if they get Arrington to sign with them he’s going to cause some real damage to the Redskins offense. I get the feeling that he might be pretty cool if he likes you, but your worst enemy when he’s pissed. And make no mistake; Gibbs, Williams, Snyder and crew pissed him off last year by screwing with his contract and keeping him on the bench.

One thing is for sure. If the deal gets made, Patrick Ramsey is going to be happier than a pig in shit that he got traded to the J-E-T-S, Jets.

Housing is fucking expensive in and around the Nation’s Capitol. That is the easiest and most truthful way of saying it. When a family of way the hell too many can rent cheaper than buy, there is something seriously ate up about the situation. I wish the bubble would go ahead and pop out here so we could actually buy something that we could live in. But who the hell can figure out if it’s going to pop or keep climbing? Maybe we should move to West Virginia. I hear the commute is not too bad from there.

I guess the Post’s vendetta against Our Fearless Leader is starting to pay off. Between Rove stepping down and Scott McClellan’s being shown the door the White House is going to be drastically different in the last years of this Administration. And I’d venture that it is a good thing. After all, the bulk of the staff has been on board since Day One and the burnout at that level has to be mind numbing. I know how exhausting it is to simply live in DC. Being on the inside of the power ring must crank it up geometrically.

Now give this old geezer some credit for trying a new approach. You’d have to be pretty damn dumb to believe that a doctor would go door to door giving out breast exams, but then we are talking about people who live in a hurricane magnet. So you can’t expect too much in the way of intelligent thinking from them. And you have to wonder how many times he did it and didn’t get reported. My real question is if a gross looking female opens the door did he extend her the same offer, or just give her a business card and keep moving?

Later.
