Damn, I am glad that it’s Friday. This has been one of the longest, most tiring weekends in a while. For no real reason I can’t seem to get motivated to do any work. All I want to do is sleep and hit golf balls.
Of course that’s what this weekend is all about; getting some much needed rest, smacking some balls and watching the Masters. For the moment, and yes I waited to post until there were players on the course, things are looking good for Vijay. Tiger is still mired with the commoners, playing out of the Top 20. Look for that to change as he always starts slow in Augusta.
Another thing to not take for granted is how good the Masters always looks on television. The course is immaculate but the rest of Augusta is a slime pit. It’s a dirty and trashy a town as you can imagine. Put it this way, the major eatery is the Waffle House. There is a single Interstate exit ramp that has three Waffle Houses on it. That’s the kind of town we are talking about here folks. I loved my time there, both times, but learned quickly that it is best not to stray far from the same confines at Ft. Gordon. Unless of course you are going downtown to see the Snake Lady, but that is a story for a different day.
The Post is running so many opinion pieces on immigration that you would think they may have some type of agenda on the topic. Which, would be easier to tolerate if they were more consistent with the articles. Today Krauthammer is all about amnesty for the current illegals, then building several fences to keep the new ones out. That’s kind of bas-ackwards in my mind. Put the fences up first to stop the flow, then figure out what to do with those that you already have.
And finally, can we please leave Jesus alone? Yesterday it was he didn’t really walk on water, it was frozen ice. Today, Judas wasn’t really that bad his role in the crucifixion was just misunderstood. It turns out that Jesus laid some secret knowledge on Judas and the other disciples, hell maybe even on Mary Magdalene, on how to reach heaven that appears nowhere else in the Bible. That damn Di Vinci Code is really having some deep second and third order effects on the Christian world. I miss the good old fashioned King James Version of Jesus. He was easy to understand and believe in.
Later. Enjoy your weekend.
