Boy was THE WOMAN pissed yesterday.  She had been waiting all weekend to see the Memphis Tigers play Sunday afternoon.  Instead CBS showed the George Mason game. Which makes sense, since we live seven miles from the campus and Mason was the Cinderella story this weekend.  Plus, DC area teams seem to be on the rebound this year.

I get that C-USA is a weak conference these days.  Since Louisville and Cincinnati both bolted, Memphis is the only powerhouse school and that sucks for the Tigers. It’s not like they have any real alternatives as far as jumping leagues goes either.  Memphis was a key player in building C-USA, and particularly in setting it up to be a basketball ‘super conference’.  Now they are stuck being the bully on a block of wimps.  No matter how much lunch money they steal from the other teams, they will never get respect.  Even a Sweet Sixteen isn’t enough to do that.
