Ok, nap time is over back to the blogsphere. I spent the weekend being a bum and buying new uniforms. The big let down of the weekend was that no one can turn out the new name tapes quickly. There are tons of changes on the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) that make so much sense you have to wonder if the Army really had much input into designing them. The biggest improvement is the over all comfort of the ACU. They are more comfortable than my sleep pants are.
THE WOMAN now has a new car, which is a good thing because her old one barely made it to the dealership to be traded. I doubt it would have made it home that day. Both of us now own Korean cars, but hers is much nicer. The Sonata has really been upgraded over the past few years and is as impressive as anything we’ve looked at for under $30K. This was defiantly the right move.
Speaking of right moves, the Steelers made more than their share yesterday against “Jake the Flake†and the Denver Broncos. The game was a study in contrast at the quarterback position. Big Ben was on a roll, and Jake Plummer finally turned into the guy that he always has been. Denver may have had the better record, but Pittsburgh had been playing better teams this year. In a lot of ways yesterday the Steelers looked like the team from the 1970s, and those guys always found a way to win in the big games.
The Seahawks looked damn impressive too. The Panthers were pretty banged up yesterday, and Steve Smith was the only thing the ‘Hawks had to worry about on offense. Hasselbeck and Alexander were on the top of their games, with Hasselbeck looking more and more like a younger Brett Favre. I don’t think that it is going to be good enough though to get them past the Steelers in two weeks. Look for the Steelers line to shut down Alexander early and force Hasselbeck to have to carry the team like he did against the Redskins.
This is the big week of my quarter and it kicks off with a prep session today. If I survive first contact I’ll be back later.
