Our office has a few civilians in it, and most of them are good to have around. We have one though that is a real loser. She’s the stereotypical government employee with a real chip on her shoulder. In the past she has blatantly disobeyed her supervisor, misrepresented the hours she works on her time sheet, and is hard to work with in general. It’s hard to make any disciplinary action stick since she’s a member of a ‘protected work class.’

This morning she got here late (again) and started mouthing off at me in a rather loud tone about needing to put some classified documents in the division safe. Being the curious type, and knowing that she had only arrived moments earlier, I asked where the documents came from. She informed me that she picked them up on Friday and couldn’t find anyone with a combination to the safe before it was time for her to leave. Now, I know that’s a crock because there are at least eight of us that have the combination. It turns out that she had put these classified documents in her desk drawer over the weekend. And by the way, she had Monday off too so it was an extra day of these documents being exposed.

I really hate the mentality that some of the people around here have.

More later.
