Yesterday morning was typical of tourists on the Metro. It’s a clearly established fact that I can’t stand the way they act, and I’m not going to be apologetic for that.  The Blue Line train came into the Roslynn station announcing that it would not be stopping at the Arlington Cemetery station, its normal next stop.  This happens on occasion and generally in the morning rush it’s not a big deal.  Arlington Cemetery is one of those stops, like the Smithsonian, that’s basically a tourist stop.

During the two minute ride to Arlington the train driver announced three more times that the train would not be stopping.  When we come above ground a family of yokels got up and went to stand by the doors, and the wrong doors at that.  The train goes whizzing by the stop and you could see the dejection sweep over their faces.  They really wanted to get off at Arlington and couldn’t understand why the train didn’t stop.

And you wonder why I hate these people.
