AlaskaMike is posting more often than I am.  That really hurts.  A lot.

THE BOY has been sick for the past four or five days.  His fever has been about four or five degrees above normal for that length of time and never really coming down much.  We’ve been in the ER of the National Naval Medical Center (Bethesda) twice and Walter Reed Army Hospital once in the past 48 hours.  The pediatric team, literally all four of them last night, finally got a good handle on the strain of STREP that was causing the problem. Two IV drips and a bottle of apple juice later it appears that the crisis has passed.

Read this article, and then start in with all of your Arkansas jokes.

What’s the big deal about the new iPod?  It’s a two inch screen that plays video and that’s nothing really that new.  Dick Tracey has had a wrist watch/2 way TV combo since I was a kid.  The person that can tie a TiVO system into one of these things is going to be king of the Internet for about a week.  My buddy CZ thinks that this might be part of a sinister plot by Steve Jobs and company to dominate all of your entertainment time and dollars. Which could be true.

I’m beyond running on fumes and my boss is starting to nit pick me over next week’s series of two star level briefings.  As always the slides are late coming into our office and that has him stressed.  In fairness to him it took me a couple of rotations to get used to that too.  Our pre-brief to the one star is set for 1500 today and I have about half of what I need to make it happen.  That’s pretty much on schedule in my mind.

Enough for now.  I’ll check back in with you guys later.
