The world is a hard place to be. It's harder if you're stupid.

Looks a bit like our house these days.

  • Hurricane Katrina has had some pretty unusual spin offs, but this one is something that most people would have never thought of.  I doubt that more than 10 or 12 of these are performed, but it’ll keep the local Baptist preacher in new material for a few weeks.
  • I tried the new Coke Zeroâ„¢ at lunch today. It had exactly that, zero flavor.  From what I hear it is a big improvement over Diet Cokeâ„¢ so I guess that is a good thing.
  • My stress level has really been up the past couple of weeks.  Not really sure why, but I do know that the month of October is going to be busy for both me and THE WOMAN.  On top of all of my work related stuff, and having FOUR OF THE FIVE KIDS under roof, I’m starting back to school next week.  Maybe that’s it.
  • THE WOMAN found a place called Top Golf that has a unique twist.  The balls have computer chips embedded and they give you feedback and points based on how close you come to the ‘greens’.  While the idea has merit the execution is poor.  To start with it costs almost $6 for 20 balls.  If you don’t land close to the ‘greens’ or ‘pins’ then you get zero points.  For a family of four to play two games (about 45 minutes worth) the cost was close to sixty dollars.  Not much of a value in my mind.

I’ll be back with more later.

The Redskins are hanging on to Ramsey until the end of the year.  At least that’s the word in this morning’s Washington Post.  The ‘Skins were contacted by the New York football Jets about making a trade for Ramsey but the conversation only lasted ‘about 10 seconds.’

This could mean a couple of things.

  1. The Redskins don’t think Brunell can last the entire season and need a solid insurance plan.
  2. Coach Gibbs knows that rookie Jason Campbell isn’t going to be ready quickly enough to take over for Ramsey and has to hang on to Ramsey to fill that gap, if only for a couple of weeks.or,
  3. The Jets didn’t have anything of real value to offer the Redskins.

My money is on reason number three.  The Jets don’t really have anything that they would be willing to part with other than next year’s draft picks.

Ramsey would fill a real need for the Jets and have a chance to show that Gibbs is being wrong and hard headed in his choice of quarterbacks.  He would have trouble, I’m sure, with the new playbook but he’s already used to working with Laveranues Coles who was traded to New York in the offseason. — 30 —
