This must be the new slogan of food service workers everywhere.
And they have a point.
It’s not like we can have our daily ration of Big Macs handed to us over the Internet from some partial speaker of the English language. We are going to have to deal with the locals when we want to get our fast food.
The servers at these places know they have the upper hand. You can’t express your displeasure by short tipping, because they don’t work for tips. Talking to the manager is pointless because he or she used to be one of the people ringing up the register. They are going to side with the employee 97 out of every 100 times. Your only option is to take your business elsewhere.
You are now there for their benefit, not the other way around. The tables have been turned, so to speak.
