Our intern came back from vacation today. No, I don’t know how a summer hire manages to scam a week and a day of vacation time. All I can say is that if our senior civilian finds out that it was paid time off there is going to be pure hell to pay around here.
None of realized how annoying her voice is until we had time without it. Chunae and our male intern both cringed in horror when they heard her this morning. She’s been really quite though, I guess because none of us have gone out of our way to talk to her. But enough about that.
I paid bills today and felt really broke. Then the entire office went en masse an picked up our Metro checks for the quarter. Now I feel rich again. It’s not enough to really get me back and forth for the entire quarter, but it takes care of 90% it.
As you can see from the picture below THE BOY found a pack of my camouflage paint this weekend. The paint job is all on him, with no direction from me. Not bad for a first time. He thought he was too cool and blew a gasket when I had to wash it off his face. He’ll be a Ranger someday no matter what his mother wants.
One of the girls at his day care this week kissed him on the cheek and called him a hero. It really embarrassed him that she did that. But I can’t figure out if it was the kiss or being her hero that got to him.
Tonight I’m headed to a concert with the SECOND DAUGHTER, FIRST MARRIAGE. You may remember that she bought the tickets as my Father’s Day gift. It’s a double bill with John Mellencamp and John Fogerty under the open skies. We’ve got a forecast for a clear night, so a good time should be had by all.
Out. For now.
