Well the week is shaping up pretty well. One more day in the office and then two days to call my own. I may try to squeeze in nine holes before I cut the grass Saturday morning.
The big news in town is that the cops finally caught Borf. It turns out that DC’s best known graffiti tagger is a 18 year old spoiled brat from one of the better DC suburbs. That really puts a dent into his street cred. Seemingly he got fed up with life in the real world after one of his buds committed suicide a couple of years ago. This turned Borf into an anarchist who finished high school early because he didn’t like the concept of education.
The guy on the radio today said that the NL East leading Nationals were one of the main reasons that Metro rail ridership is up this summer. In June over 18.5 million people took the Metro. I think the bulk of them have squeezed up next to me on the Orange line in the afternoons.
The DSL line is now operational at home. THE WOMAN was very pleased by that. And despite what the Nazis over at Cox Cable will tell you, Verizon DSL is visibly faster, and much more robust. It’s cheaper too. Can you imagine that? To add to my joy and pleasure the installation took less than 20 minutes and did not require me to converse with some off-shore troglodyte to get the router configured correctly.
Million Dollar Baby came out on DVD this week and I was really impressed with it. As a rule most movies that the critics love really suck. Clint Eastwood hit one hell of a home run with this one. All the praise was more than deserved.
Work beckons so I have to go. More tomorrow.
Out.
P.S. Rob Thomas is not gay, and he’s really pissed that someone thinks he’s joined a cult. He sends his apologies to Tom Cruise on both accounts.
