Wow, a month since I last posted. Goes to show how time flies when you actually attempt to do your job during the day. My boss must be so proud of me.
I’ve concluded that certain parts of everyone’s life needs a soundtrack. Part of mine is going to be ‘Hurt’ by Johnny Cash. It fits the mood in the Metro to a ‘T’ when you are coming above ground from Roslynn to the Pentagon on the Blue Line. That’s the part of the line that has the Arlington Cemetary stop on it. With the Washington Monument rising stiff and grey against a blue/pink clouded horizon and all the grass poking thru the snow on the sides of the rail, the meloncoly of the song completes the ride.
My favorite line from a song has to be in Hammer’s ‘Too Legit to Quit’. The line is something about a trainload of midgets who believe the hype. Which also reminds me of a ride on the Metro.
If there is one downside to living in and around DC it is all the liberals. It’s harder to find three individuals with common sense in one place than it is to find a glass of sweet tea in this town. The traffice sucks too, but if we had fewer liberals we might be able to pass laws to let us shoot the stupid drivers.
Gotta run.
